My parents and I lived in Germany in the 90s as refugees. My dad is now retirement age in the US and has applied for his German pension. They just replied that they need to receive American insurance history. Which insurance carrier is this does anyone know? Is it social security ? Or health insurance. Do they contact or do we need to and what info are they looking for? Does my dad need to start collecting social security here first to receive their payout? He is 66 in September.
