The relevant statement was made by Andrii Yusov, the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, in a commentary to Ukrinform.
“Yes, we officially confirm this information. Four Il-76 [airlifters] have been destroyed and cannot be restored. A few more units [planes] were damaged.”
Bravo!! Seems like Ukraine was ready for the retaliation attack aswell this time, Im sure there will be more tho. Onwards!

This is why the war won’t last 10 years as some people suggest here occasionally, Ukraine is steadily ramping up while Russia falters and eats its own. 10 years from now the Russian Federation will be called something else yet again.

This is crazy. It seems so easy for Ukraine to hit valuable military targets, even (deep) in Russia, while Russia has a very hard time striking simple unguarded civilian targets. Go Ukraine!

While all the russkis can do is killing civillians with rockets, Ukraine is doing the real job destroying only military relevant targets every day!
So how significant a loss is this? I know these planes carry troops and equipment to the front but how many are there? Are they expensive? Hard to replace?
Bridges, railways, now airlifters. Russia’s logistics problems are multiplying and they are faltering. Any airlifter sent to reinforce Russian troops is a nice juicy target. They are slowly being bled out by Ukrainian forces.
**ruZZian News report:** During the unsuccessful overnight drone attack on Pskov airbase, a significant number of enemy drones were intercepted and totally destroyed by four Il-76 strategic and tactical airlifters. 
Considering this was first announced immediately after the attacks by Russian state news, I would assume the damage is much higher and they tried to throw a “low” number out there that would stick to control the narrative
Was it done inside russia? I cant see the drones traveling 100’s of miles.
