The science is clear: the case for more Covid restrictions is overwhelming

  1. Bro no suicidal business but man just doesn’t wanna live anymore with all this going on smh

  2. They use words like “science” to suggest that you can’t dispute their tactics.

I will not be complying, covid is a health problem that needs to be treated, it is not a national issue.

1 in 450 of the UK population have died WITH covid. That includes falling off a ladder 28 days after a positive test and even deaths within 28 days of false positives.

The average age of death is 81 and often kills people in poor health to start with. Their death is still tragic but the reality is many don’t have many good years of life left regardless of If they die covid or from something else. They should have the right to choose how they spend their years.

Covid is certainly a threat to some demographics but if the government cared about their health wouldn’t they be supporting them by paying for the elderly to have their shopping delivered to their homes rather than employing police to stop you having a Christmas dinner with your family?

These numbers were taken from the ONS website.
    Be obedient

  3. Restrictions are no longer an option. The general public will not comply this time around so you might as well take those options off of the table. The only thing it will achieve is widespread economic damage.

  4. Utter nonsense – we can’t keep locking down indefinitely. Covid’s here to stay and will continue to mutate, so we’ve really got two options:

    1. Get vaccinated (with boosters every 3 – 6 months), wear a mask on public transport and get on with life
    2. Infinite lockdowns for the rest of time, economic turmoil, children’s education suffering and further declines in mental health

Regardless, nobody’s going to take a blind bit of notice of any new restrictions, given that our government treated them as mere suggestions even pre-vaccine.

It’s a crap situation, but it’s time to fucking get on with life.

  5. You cannot ever go any further than the very original lockdown did. Nobody will bat for that anymore, even the biggest paranoid hardliners I knew from March 2020 have now totally moved on and are living very normally.

March 2020 on steroids will not fly. Very few will do it.

Any “new restrictions” coming down the track will likely be more of the tinkering-around-the-edges we had in the past e.g. rule of six, stay at home as much as you can, WFH and so no. I don’t see the UK going full Wuhan ever again – Boris has no credibility or political capital therefore nobody is listening to him, and there are quite a few people on here and in real life in Wales and Scotland who can’t be arsed with the devolved rules either.

  6. What happened to the “irreversible Road map” that we came out of during the summer? What happened to just living with the virus like we’ve done year in year out with common colds, flu, influenza etc etc.
If people keep on complying it’s not going to benefit you or your children and their children in years to come.

Look at how many people are now, they’re frustrated, mentally worn down and they have done everything by the book. You also can’t blame non vaccinated people for something that’s still transmissible if you are vaccinated.

Our governments have become tyrannical dictators and it’s absolutely disgusting people still think they’re telling the truth. Look at hancock and his affair he had when we were locked down and couldn’t see anyone else. Remember the time when we had a 10:00pm curfew at pubs yet the mp’s were okay to drink beyond that time? Look how quickly and quietly this Xmas party last year become swept under the carpet and now it’s not even spoke of anymore.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m fed up of the contradictions and misleading information.

  7. No. Vaccines were supposedly our way out of this, what is the endgame? We’re at the point where lockdowns cause more damage to people’s lives than the virus does. Those who aren’t jabbed are either medically exempt or a moron.
How the authorities can reasonably expect people to put up with it for much longer is beyond me.

  8. I’m potentially in my last few months or years. I do not want my last months to be spent cooped up in my little flat on my own. I want to live. Living means seeing people. It means coffee with friends, Christmas with my family, going to places and making memories.

Lockdown would take that all from me. I’ve already lost much of the past two years. Why should I lose any more? I can’t have my last months be doctors and hospitals and Midsomer Murders.

  9. Tories fucked up time and time again but now their incompetence has almost guaranteed we are beyond combating this. We need restrictions but even the most willing last time won’t just accept it.

  10. What is the point of taking all the measures they take you to ask if we still end up at square one at the end of every year it’s absolutely ridiculous, I’ve had my jabs, I’ve had my booster. I wear masks on public transport, in cinemas and shops etc.

What was the point of getting the vaccine and the booster if we are in a never ending cycle of lockdowns there’s got to be a better alternative, and how is it fair on all the people who have complied who have taken the right measures to prevent catching and spreading covid to say “right get back in your houses and stay there while we drink cheese and wine and laugh at you.”

People are sick to death of lockdowns and restrictions. If prevention isn’t working then more money needs to be put into treatment. And encouraging those who haven’t already to get the vaccine, I read a few days ago that a third of Londoners haven’t been vaccinated, no wonder they are declaring an emergency. What happened to we are all in this together. What happened to no turning back?
