Safe places for drug consumption should be piloted in UK, MPs recommend

  1. What d9 they mean piloted? We already used to do this, they’re taking something we did right up into the 90s and acting like it’s some fantastic new idea.

  2. I’ll support this scheme if each of the pilot sites have to be on the same street as at least one MP’s house.

  3. It also makes sense from a harm/crime reduction perspective to decriminalise a lot of drugs.

    However… the UK Government will never do anything which is seen to look “soft on drugs”, even if it’s the logical thing to do.

  4. Desperately needed in my opinion. So many times I needed to change a baby’s nappy but had to wait twenty minutes for someone to finish shooting up first. It’s just so wrong for the situation to be a shared space for baby’s hygiene and injected drugs. There needs to be a separate room for drug taking

  5. The UK government are dead against the Scottish government trialling this properly so it’s unlikely to actually happen.

  6. This is a really sensible thing to do. It takes pressure off of NHS resources, provides safety for residents and ensures that addicts can get some support.
