Glasgow used to be the No 1 UK port in the early/mid 20th century.
Then Thatcher’s tories and the English Parliament destroyed it through target anti-Scot policies that included the poll tax (taxing Scots more) and the abolition of the coal mines and coal-related industries.
Antwerpen may be at number 2 but it’s number 1 for cocain imports.
Would be interesting to remove the Asian side of Turkey and see the results.

All ships have to go up the Elbe river to get to the port. And still, it’s the fourths largest port in Europe.
It’s quite a view to sit on the banks of a river and watch those huge container vessels go by.
Now show which of them are partially Chinese owned or owned by Greek oligarchs who actively support Russia.
After the failure of Brexit the once great British Ports seem insignificant.
