  1. Perfect.

The gov shit loads of money. They just can’t spend them well. They don’t need extra, they need to be better at spending.

Now struggling businesses will struggle more.

Oh, and who do you think is gonna pay for their struggles?

  2. Good because it was just lost revenue they never passed it on just pocketed it

  3. Oh well. Not like it was ever passed on anyways.

    Next.

  4. And you just know that even though they never passed on the VAT rate cut they will now proceed to raise their prices in line with the VAT going back up.

Meanwhile they’ll have their mouthpieces out on every media outlet going crying about how they haven’t an arse in their trousers and they need more government help.

Useless, swindling, conmen bastards. I’d be happy to see the hospitality industry die a death here rather than let these sorts of people profit and give the country a reputation as a nation of swindlers.

  5. People need to realise how close they are to their favourite restaurant closing. The costs have literally doubled and now they have this VAT rise. Diageo have increased their prices again as well. I work in a 3 million a year turnover gastropub, my boss says he has never lost as much money as he this year. I wish people understood the price rises in hospitality, its not gouging its necessary.
