So, I’m a frequent listener of dance music (call it EDM if you want), and I’ve run into two separate songs, one by a German group called Italobrothers, and one by the Swedish group Kobojsarna mentioning groups of specifically 26 girls and boys respectively.
I feel like this is too weird of a number to be a coincidence. It’s not even like it’s used to rhyme with anything specific. So I wonder if the number is somehow significant to Norwegians. I’ve tried googling it but haven’t really found anything. Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

Whatever it is, it’s definitely not common knowledge. The only thing I can think of is that 26 is two times 13, so it might have something to do with bad luck?
I have no way of saying this is related but there is a club in Oslo named after its address – Storgata 26.
Could these songs be something made on demand for “russebusser” (Google it) with 26 members?
These two tracks sound like typical 2010-years «russebuss-musikk». 26 is a typical number of students in a class at videregående skole.
Why not 27 or 25? Maybe because the number 6 sounds like «sex»? That «joke» is as old as the hills.
They are songs made for russ. Custom made theme songs for buses with 26 members.
Kobojsarna has another one that mentions “Twenty-six girls and they’re unbelievable”
