Wtf am I paying a delivery fee and expected to tip the driver too? Why not just pay the driver the delivery fee? I fucking hate the way this country is moving towards tipping culture.

  1. Would be ordering from them if they charged €7.99 for delivery?

  2. It doesn’t that bad, hey you are getting delivery, no cooking involved, delivered in 30’ so you can eat it watching tv l. But yes it is outrageous to through in a few bucks. This is sad. I agree tipping culture has gone mad, but does people literally provide a good service. What ever man. We were all there at times.

  3. If it’s bad weather you should be definitely tipping your driver a few quid.

  4. If you don’t tip and get the same delivery driver when you order again, he’ll lick each slice of pepperoni before putting it back on your pizza. Fact.

  5. In some branches of Eddie Rockets you have to pay before you eat. Must be due to scrotes doing the dine and dash. Fair enough. But they ask you what tip you’d like to leave. How in the hell can I tip anything if I haven’t even had service yet? That’ll be 0.00 I’m afraid.

Tipping the delivery guy is probably older than you

  7. I will never tip.

The problem with tipping is that it becomes part of the wage structure and then is used to lower peoples wages.

People should be able to make a living wage from working without having to hope someone gives them a tip so they can pay their rent.

    Tipping = exploited workers

  8. Tipping is normal in America. That place is a corrupt corporate fascist oligarchy. Hence why tipping is normal there.
If tipping is creeping into Ireland, then it’s best to look at the reasons why. As if everyday things here weren’t expensive enough as they were.

  9. Don’t tip. End of.

Tipping just encourages employer wage exploitation.

  10. Was in a place the other week and went to pay, your one behind the counter was all smiles and sunshine handing me the device. Of course the “would you like to leave a tip” prompt appeared.

I pressed no and her whole demeanor changed and she had a face like thunder. She just snatched it back off me and turned her back on me, no thank you, see you next time, nothing.

I mentally noted to never go there again. Like it was only a poxy sandwich and cup of coffee which was expensive enough to begin with.

  11. Husband used to drive for them. Used to be free delivery. He got paid 3 quid per delivery but usually he only got 2 deliveries done per hour, but tips made up for it. They would only let you do one delievry at a time even if there was two deliveries in the same area. The drivers also had to pay for their own fuel and were considered self employed.

So pretty much tips were the wages and what Domino’s paid for delivery covered the fuel. Then they brought in the delivery charge and didnt up the amount they paid to delivery drivers. Tips vanished in the space of a week. Drivers started letting customers know the delivery charge wasn’t going to them and many drivers up and quit because they were losing money.

Most stores ended up having to up the amount they paid to drivers. Husband hasn’t driven for them in years, but heard from others who do that they still pay drovers very little.

It’s not just tipping culture they are trying, its the whole underpaid culture and expecting others to bridge the gap.

  12. If you don’t want to tip, don’t fucking tip.
All you fucking moaners posting about this absolutely dreadful tipping culture that has been “creeping” in, when people have been leaving tips in pubs, restaurants for donkeys years. Delivery drivers being tipped isn’t new.

Giving a tip is not American tipping culture, their culture is about a minimum expected tip as a percentage of the overall bill.

The new thing is all you people whining about it.

  13. I don’t mind tipping but anything above €2 is excessive in my book.

  14. This is beside the point but I can never get that tip thing to work on the app anyway.

  15. Get that American shite out of here , people in Ireland are paid a minimum wage and if they’re not happy they need to find another better paying job. Don’t expect me to make up for your financial short comings.

  16. My coke dealer don’t expect any tip, and she delivers straight to my snout 24/7/366

  17. You should see Vancouver. Everything comes with a tip option

  18. I never tip, I just want to pay the fee advertised without any hidden charges. Secondly there is no guarantee the employer shares the tips out equally and if the employer pockets some of that tip we don’t know and if the till is left short at the end of the night don’t be surprised if the employer uses tips to balance the missing money.

If I knew 100% that the tip was going to the worker and the service was very good I would consider to leave a tip but I definitely almost never tip because if this creeps into the country then it’s just an excuse not to pay workers a fair wage and use tips as an excuse to save on costs.

    /Rant over

  19. I live on a massive fuckin hill so I always tip any delivery driver who makes it lol
