This just happened as I received my bag in Larnaca airport. Is this normal? Can I get reimbursed by airport?

1. This is the first time this ever happens and Ive traveled to over 50 countries. Bag is brand new :(. Any advise?

   I thought airport staff had the universal TSA key if they really had to open bag.

   Are the bag handlers in Larnaca airport known to do this?

2. It looks like it’s been tampered with, judging by the scuff mark location. First thing is to double check you’re not missing anything. You should contact your airline, this could have been done either from your origin city or destination, there’s no certainty it was done in Larnaca. A claim with the airline might replace the bag and any missing belongings, or travel insurance if you’ve got it. I have general travel insurance with my bank that covers that kind of thing, one of those services that’s forgettable, maybe worth checking.
