Just as we are coming into winter. Fucking madness.
Better than the street I suppose
It’s going to be an unpopular opinion on here but for the ones who have already claimed refugee status in another EU member state they should not be given any priority at all and should be treated the same as someone from Albania, Algeria etc (or even lower priority). Reason being they have already used the limited resources of another EU member state and now are trying to take advantage and move to a different EU state and use the same resources again.
“Since May 1st, there has been a notable increase in the number of Ukrainian nationals arriving in the country.
Over 10,000 people have fled to Ireland during the summer months, with an average of 650 people per week seeking asylum.”
Surely it would be easy for the government to find out if someone has already tried to claim refugee status in another EU country and used the resources.
This is going to sound right wing for some people but I’m certainly not.
If it was up to me if I found out that someone has claimed refugee status and lived in another EU country and enjoyed the benefits from the state then they should be treated the same as an EU citizen moving to a different EU country and not receive any help at all.
“10,000 people over the summer have fled to Ireland”
What does Ireland have in common with Ukraine?
Why not go to a country where you share a similar language?
Why go to one of the most expensive countries in Europe?
Why bypass all of mainland Europe to come to a small island?
If I was refugee who most likely doesn’t speak English and don’t have a lot of money. What benefits do I get from Ireland? It would be like a Irish person claiming asylum in Israel.
We know the answer, the vast majority are here because we’re rich. I don’t even have a problem with that. But they should not receive any special help if they already claimed asylum in a different EU member state.
At what point will FFFG admit that they don’t have a hold on the housing crisis and just declare an emergency. This is getting out of hand. It’s coming into winter and we’re putting people fleeing from war into tents. Are they that egotistical that they’d rather this situation over doing the right thing!?
It’s embarrassing but if you compare the numbers of ukrainian refugees that Ireland has taken in since last year to other EU countries we have taken in a higher percentage when compared to our total population than even france or germany
LOL Irish dumbasses.
Fucking hell…
But according to the niall boyland show they were all getting 3 bedroom houses? Surely this cant be right
Solidarity
Unfortunately this is what a humanitarian crisis looks like. If you want to lay the blame somewhere, Russia has an embassy on Orwell Road in Dublin…
We are doing all we can do to provide humanitarian assistance and taking in more people than we can accommodate. Any embarrassment belongs to Moscow!
They should have immediately deported anyone arriving without identification, would have freed up space for legitimate refugees,
