The AIM-120 is a 120 km range over-the-horizon air to air missile.
Sounds like it would be very effective for denying Russian access to Ukraine’s air space.
The US’s most advanced air-to-air missile, with a range of 105km… and also specializes in low-altitude targets – where Russia likes to fly.
Most Russian pilots hide in Russian airspace, I wonder if Ukraine will be able to shoot these over Russia as well.

This is excellent news for everyone who isn’t a Russian pilot or air crew.
It’s a shame that at present Ukraine doesn’t have anything (that I’m aware of) that can use Meteor. Even the old block 1 Eurofighter Typhoons the UK is about to retire can’t use them.
