The Irish Farmers Association wants Electric Picnic to change its dates for next year because it’s in the middle of the harvest season.

  1. This seems eminently reasonable. Harvest is tight enough as it is.

  2. I know we can’t depend on our summers too much but it would make sense to have it in the middle of our summer

  3. So this is reasonable, but complaining about tractors on the road during rush hours isnt? Makes sense.

  4. Is the change of date due to a clash with the coldplay gigs? Surely EP would be better craic without them

  5. If anyone knows Stradbally, they will know that in the middle of the town there is a massive grain intake for the surrounding area. Closing it for 4 days at least would be massive, especially at harvest time.

There is also massive knock on effect in traffic right around the area.

I believe the biggest issue with this is that no consultation took place with the area, and they just went ahead and announced it.
