2. Well, anything but a conviction would have been very surprising indeed.

   In the linked story, one of her acquaintances is quoted as saying that she ”had an upbringing and taste… You can’t buy that. You can’t buy access, either”.

   I’m pretty sure you *can* buy access, yes, and therein lies an enormous problem.
