So how is this counted? Number of fighters, number of units? Because Romania should have the MiG-21 LanceR over the F-16, with 2 squadrons and 23-28 in total over the one squadron and 17 F-16s in service. The Norwegian F-16s aren’t here yet…

Imagine having jets in your air force- From Ireland
You know, if the eu had a united army with a united arsenal, we could all use the same model significantly reducing the costs.
I’ll never understand why EU countries buy American fighter jets. We have companies, which produce pretty good jets in our back yard, yet we give billions to the American companies. I would much rather my tax money go to a worker in Sweden/France/Wherever the Eurofighter is made than to one in America.
Slovakia will change soonish – bought 14 F-16s and they should be delivered in 2023 though
We have puddle jumpers for an airforce.
I thought we had the shittest air force in EU, but wtf Croatia
I’m not sure but I think that Austria dumped their Eurofighters
Eurofighter Typhoon, what a fucking cool name
Croatia still uses the Mig-21? Why do they still have them? Would be better to scrap them alltogether, they are completly obsolete by now.
Why France always gotta be different?
Recently our (Serbia) gov officials mentioned that they will probably buy French Rafale aircrafts.
Finland has made a decision to buy new F-35 fighters to replace old F-18s

Is this accurate for Croatia? I almost can’t believe it. The MIG21 is a plane developed in the 50s…
Which one is the most powerful/expensive?
Currently we are buying F-16. They will arrive in 2023/24.
Neither Ireland nor the Baltic have a main fighter?
The Rafale certainly the best of all.
The map doesn’t show how countries might fly a mix of fighters. [Poland](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_Air_Force#Current_inventory), for instance, is flying:
* 23 [MiG-29](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan_MiG-29#Poland)
* 18 [Su-22](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_Su-17#Poland)
* 48 [F-16](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Dynamics_F-16_Fighting_Falcon_operators#Poland)
And Poland has ordered 32 F-35 aircraft. But for now, that’s like half and half Russian and American fighters.
Part of the EU but buying american technology 🙁
For the Russian Federation, the Su-27 family is the leader https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_active_Russian_military_aircraft
MiG-29 (259) + MiG-35 (8) + MiG-29K (22) = 289
Su-27 (172) + Su-30 (111) + Su-34 (132) + Su-35 (100) = 515 + 38 ( navy)
