Hi everyone, I am an international student and I was looking for an apartment in Regensburg. Then I found this guy on WG-GESUCHT and he replied very soon(in 3 minutes), in English.

In his reply he asked me to add him on Telegram, and here’s what we talked about. I think there’s a lot of red flags, am I being paranoid?

  1. So he wants you to pay the fee now? Am I getting that right? 100% a scam. Never pay anything before you’re actually in the apartment.

  3. never send him a picture of your ID and never pay him any money in advance no matter what he tries to argue. this is most likely a scam and he just wants your money and has no apartment available for you

  4. Telegram? Scammer. Nobody legit uses Telegram.

    Reserve the room using deposit? Scammer.

    No visit? Scammer.

  5. It doesn’t make sense. Anyway Judge Judy says if it doesn’t make sense it ain’t right. (I’m paraphrasing)

    Yes, it is a scam.
