former company is holding my last paycheck? advice for non-Slovak speaker >.<

hi Slovakia Reddit!

I was working as a freelance English teacher in Bratislava until recently (a fake freelance situation where I only worked for one company, which only had freelance teachers). It was a really messed-up situation with a bad company, where one of the company owners was also my landlord. (I know it’s terrible and I was stupid to get in this situation, please don’t tell me haha.)

I quit the job, left that flat, and moved out of Slovakia into another nearby country where I actually speak the language.

Now my old company is already two weeks late paying me, and saying they will not transfer my payment to my account until I prove that I have changed my address in every official place.

Is this legal? I know I need to change my address and I am working on it, but I don’t think this company has the right to demand that information and withhold payment. I think they know I can’t afford a lawyer and don’t speak Slovak so they are trying to not pay my last paycheck.

I’m sorry if this is the wrong place to ask for help, I’m just not sure what to do >.<
