1. The usual hooligans who are looking for whatever excuse to cause destruction. The police should be allowed to deal with them in the appropriate way and they should be jailed for several years.

2. I’m in on controlling the influx of illegal immigrants and a solution must be found sooner than later. People need to realize that not ALL immigrants are illegal. Ruining shops of immigrants who worked their butt off to make a living is not right. They are working just like the rest of us.

   Ruining their city, again it’s stupid. It’s our tax payer money that will pay for the repairs.

   Hooligans are brain dead people and nobody can convince me otherwise.

4. I am not going to deny that there’s a problem with illegal immigrants. Not only here but elsewhere too. What I would like to say is this, history likes to repeat itself. We saw the same events unfolding in Germany against Jewish communities. Especially after the publication of “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” (1920). After Nazis got into power, there was nothing holding those fascists back. The rest is a well known history. Question is, will humanity repeat itself as well? And most probably suffer the consequences.

6. The illegal immigration is without a doubt a huge issue and must be controlled, it’s getting really bad and there is serious ghettofication in parts of Cyprus. However, I can’t help but feel that part of this reaction stems from the general discontent at modern living in Cyprus. Rents are sky high, salaries are poor and interest rates are garbage. The average person who doesn’t come from a family with 10 xorafia is struggling.

9. Like I said before, this is Cyprus. The government is slow and frankly entirely responsible for this. These kind of things only happen during periods of crisis and the rental situation at the very least can be generously described as completely unacceptable in Limassol. Combined with absolutely laughable minimum waged creates this situation.

   The cypriot government will likely try to do something months after it’s too late as always. If ever. I hope I’ll be proven wrong but so far they just pass the ball to the private sector to make new housing (which isnt their job. Their job is to make money. And selling an apartment for 1 million is more profitable).

   The government has been extremely apathetic to all the issues in cyprus and honestly the situation cant just keep going as always.

   This however doesnt excuse the awful actions of idiots who did this. Cyprus is Greek… god I hope not, the trademark thing of greece is having no money and Cyprus isnt there yet
