Questions About Ending Sublease Early
Hello,
I have just recently moved to Berlin and was desperate for housing, so I signed a sublease agreement for an apartment for the duration of 4 months.
Well upon arriving, I quickly realized that it would not be a good fit with the other tenants, despite having a video chat weeks beforehand where they seemed ok.
My questions is about ending my sublease agreement. I’ve come to find out the “Sublessor” on the agreement I signed and is “Sublessee” themselves, and it seems as though it’s an illegal subletting situation.
My question is can I get out of this contract early? If the whole situation is illegal, can I just move out earlier then the term agreement and not continue to pay? My contract does not mention any wording about early termination. I’ve attached it for viewing but left out identifying details other than duration of stay.
