Yep, despite some success propaganda, anybody who has seen the Belarus/Poland border (no idea about the Belarus/Lithuanian one, but probably similar) won’t be surprised. It doesn’t follow a river on over half of it. Just drawn through farmland, woodland and the ancient Białowieża Forest by I guess Stalin and Co in an straight-ish line fashion. Insanely hard area to stop people, and until Lukashenko went nuts, there was no need to do much surveillance, as unauthorized crossings on either sides in the deep woods, were the odd lost tourists. Now of course Poland wants to build a wall etc, but this became a problem due to Lukashenko in 2021, pre 2021 it was probably the most calm outer-EU border.
