The average age of death with COVID-19 in Poland is 76 years old and 80% of people that died had some other illnesses too. Average lifespan in Poland is 77 years old.
Only about 0,3% deaths were below 30 years old.
Only about 3,5% of deaths were below 50 years old.
70% of deaths were 70 years old or older.
Meanwhile, can people stop posting “where to party on NYE” on r/budapest and probably other EE capitals’ subs too?
Articles like this just create fear and panic for no good reason.
Eastern Europe will do fine. They went through the last wave with minimal vaccination where they acquired a lot of natural immunity.
In a few Eastern Europe countries it’s official that the vaccination doesn’t slow down the virus spreading, so we might be in for a surprise related to the vaccination strategy.
