“GDP has shown 0.2% growth in the three months to June 2023.” So that’s Q2 = 0.2%
So the BBC guy could have included more up-to-date information. Maybe some of the other countries do not have their data out yet (despite having 2 months to process it), or he wanted to make a counter to the recent Tweets about how the new revised UK GDP data (period Q4 2019 to Q4 2021) moved UK from worst growth in the G7 to 3rd best, and best in Europe (after USA and Canada).
Germany really rely on Russian gas 💀💀
Now do per capita, cause this picture would be very different.
Also if you adjust for borrowing.
magatoid “economy going brrr is only cuz of post covid recovery and not biden” mfs when i show them this post. 😲
I believe Germany’s has been revised to +0.2% now.
Why is Germany doing so poorly ?
This is not the whole story by any means but it’s worth noting that the population of the US and Canada grew at least a percent or two during this period while Germany, Italy, and Japan all declined. The difference is even starker if you just look at the change in working age population.
Why hasn’t France done better with their cheap energy prices?

Hello OP, could you link a source please for approval? thank you
The US is really unstoppable. I hate it but can’t help but admire it as well.
“Strangely” not the latest data.
UK 2023 Q2 GDP numbers are available from [ONS ](https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/grossdomesticproductgdp/bulletins/gdpmonthlyestimateuk/june2023#main-points).
