I don’t know about that, we all suspected he was greedy and condescending, this incident just verified it.
I almot parted with my €2.30 just to see what Pat Kenny had to say about Ryan Tubridy while he sits in a chair in the empty Sidecar Bar at the Westbury Hotel in Dublin where American tourists are checking in and out.
That’s rich coming from Pat land grabber Kenny
I would suggest being a thoroughly mediocre host meant he never had much real reputation to begin with.
The proof will be in the pudding. Can Tubridy land a 500k+ salary without the RTE?
Newsflash – Beige man weeps for beige man
He did himself no favours. His initial statement was tin-eared and tone deaf as he went on a “nothing to do with me guv” strategy. He then immediately put out a slightly more contrite, obviously media managed statement when his initial one (which no doubt better reflects his actual thoughts) went down like a lead balloon.
Then on the eve of wriggling his way back on board the gravy train with a new contract worth 6 figures for a few hours of radio a week he couldn’t keep his mouth shut and got himself shit canned
I always felt he was a mediocre interviewer, if not worse. He actively subtracted from almost any interview he conducted that wasn’t some fluff piece. But he did for himself here, and I can’t bring myself to have much sympathy for him in any of this at all.
Tubridy showed what sort of person he was when all the RTE employees were taking pay cuts and he claimed to as well… while knowing he was getting extra money under the table. Any defense of the man past that is questionable.
Ryan ruined his own reputation. No one forced him to say what he said.
His reputation for being overpaid is intact.
Is Pat not too busy stealing his neighbours land or defending the badgers from elderly people to comment on this?
Watching these two is like watching Alan Partridge seasons 25 years apart. They only have themselves to blame, these psychopaths.
[Imagine being informed that in recent years landlords have been fleeing, Kevin Myers was burned on a pyre and Ryan Tubridy publicly executed. Imagine how bitterly disappointed you would be learning this is just the language of the comfortable not getting everything their own way.](https://twitter.com/Oireachtas_RX/status/1694041291749756945)
I think he did that himself Pat.
The boomiest boomer has boomy thoughts again
Noel Kelly represents Pat too. This is Ryan/NK getting a statement out via Pat as a proxy.
The shared delusion is amazing, and it’s a shame Niamh Horan doesn’t challenge him more in the interview (not that I’d expect someone of her limited ability to).
This Bakhurst fella is growing on me, he’s right to ban NK from any future talent negotiations.
I wonder if I’ll ever stop enjoying the schadenfreude from this.
Someone should tell The Independent that in case they hadn’t noticed it isn’t actually 1987 anymore, Pat Kenny therefore has nothing of value to add to literally any discourse.
