I think a lot of people have felt this for years. But for a long time the Conservative voters were not those people.
If you own a car, own a home, don’t have a mortgage, kids have grown up and left school, have steady retirement income… but are not yet old enough to need healthcare or a care home, I can imagine life has still been pretty good for a lot of these voters.
I think it’s really telling that more and more of these people are starting to be affected by the last decade and a half of cuts though. Feels like there’s a real mood change that this really does affect everyone, and it’s a bit shit.
