Didn’t they destroy an air defence system in Crimea a few weeks ago? Maybe that’s opened an opportunity to deploy drones again?

This is a really bad sign for the Russians. It means enough of the Russian radars and other air defenses have been destroyed/suppressed for the Bayraktars to start hunting again. For quite a while they were being used only for reconnaissance as it was too dangerous to use them for strikes.
Once UAF gets F-16s and the ability to use HARMS dynamically, the air defense situation will get much worse for the Russians.
