hæhæ, anyone knows where one can find actual decent quality chicken (to cook) in Reykjavik? it’s been over 14yrs I lived here and I’ve never found anything else but that sad industrial thing
edit: takk allir for the recommendations, here the few results gathered (for whoever is looking for chicken and not Icelandic language lessons lol:
Fjarðakaup: danish organic chicken
Krónan: Reykjabú
Bónus: ukrainian chicken (?)
Litlibuðagarðurin: iceland free range chicken (seasonal)
edit2: [THIS](https://images.app.goo.gl/zZuckTRM5WWNaCLR8) is an example of the kind of good chicken I talked about originally

I’m not sure what you mean exactly but I’ve heard good things about the kjúklingur sold in Costco
You’ve been here for 14 years and you still don’t know how to ask where to find good chicken in Icelandic?
Það er hægt að kaupa danskan lífrænan kjúkling í fjarðarkaupum held ég. Íslensk kjötframleiðsla önnur en lambakjöt er langt á eftir í gæðum miðað við nágrannaþjóðir og það eru ekki jafn miklir staðlar.
Lífrænn kjúklingur er held ég ekki fóðraður með fúkkalyfjum eins og tíðkast á mörgum íslenskum hænsnabúum.
There was a company called Litla gula hænan which sold high-welfare, free-range chicken. Unfortunately, they went out of business. I’m not sure if there’s an equivalent now…
Kronan rotisserie chickens are damn good.
I’ve bought from a family farm called Reykjabú, the chicken is in black packaging with a photo of the farmers on it. You can find them in Krónan 🙂 imo best chicken I’ve had from stores.
