If it’s one booster every 3 months, than the vaccinated people will get 4 per year. The current booster is said to lose two third of its efficiency after four weeks. This would result in a monthly booster, adding up to 12 boosters a year.
…while it may make sense for older/at risk populations, younger people may have more risk from the boosters than from Covid.
“Even if older individuals, with a rapidly waning immune response, are candidates for a booster shot, Barda and colleagues’ findings do not extend to younger age groups, especially those aged 12–30 years.”
“Israel has reported cases of myocarditis and pericarditis as rare events after mRNA vaccines. A study from Israel has reported a higher risk of myocarditis after the second dose, with a rate ratio of 2·35 (95% CI 1·10–5·02) compared with unvaccinated individuals. Is the benefit to risk ratio of the third dose different for older and younger individuals? Concerns exist regarding vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia in younger recipients of virus vector vaccines.”
No thanks
Fuck that. I got my two doses and will probably get my booster when I am due up, but I’m not doing this shit every three months for the next fifty years.
why don’t we have a better jab by now ?
Fine by me. I am up to 4 shots this year already. I will take tests every day. Just give me something I can do, not just sit in our apartment for another 3 months.
I recall reading that scientists (in Sweden?) are working on a small inhaler type delivery mechanism for the vaccines. If, instead of having to attend a clinic for a needle delivery, we can get them over the counter and administer them ourselves via the mouth, or up the nose like child flu vaccines, that’s got to be a massive game-changer.
idk man I already got 3 but im not really waiting for 3/year more :/
I was reading an NPR article that stated, that while there is not sufficient data, the data that they do have indicate that omnicron bypasses the vaccine. Another article suggested that omincron may overtake the delta variant. If that’s the case, then what benefit would having a booster if it doesn’t protect against omnicron? And if omnicron, a very weak variant of coronavirus, overtakes delta, what is the point of the vaccine at all since the symptoms are only fatigue, sore throat, runny nose. Do we need to still have lockdowns and vaccine mandates for that? Of course, while the delta variant lingers, it’s still important for those at risk to get it
Vaccinate me harder, daddy!
I reckon a jab will need before every winter like the flu jab.
Cool, they want to transform perfectly normal and reasonable people into anti-vaxxers.
