Hi, Reddit! Today we were collecting vegetables and fruits for our military. Civilians were eager to share their harvest with those who protect us. So 6 tons of tomatoes, peppers, apples and other goodies went to the military!

  11. Your community is truly inspiring and amazing. I love your posts because they show the everyday life going on despite the war and everyone coming together. I would love to think my community would be able to do the same but am doubtful esp with how long this has gone on.

    But cheers to you, I always look forward to your posts and appreciate all you do for the military.

  12. At first I was like.. okay… box of vegetables, that’s a nice gesture. And then… a stack of boxes. And then a truckload of stacks of boxes, and bushels, and piles of sacks of potatoes, and everything else.

    And then it’s not just some gesture anymore.

    This is how it works — building little by little into something that becomes big enough to make a significant difference. A lever long enough to shift the world. This is the power of people acting in large numbers that those in power constantly want us to forget — the power that they themselves do not even comprehend.

    It’s the power of a nation that defies the big important world elites and their elite opinions about each others’ elite unstoppability. According to these elite people, only one of their own can make decisions about world affairs. This is why even if they do not see themselves as particular friends of Putin they will always side with him, over some dumb unimportant unwealthy insignificant rabble like these Ukrainians.

    … with their cardboard boxes of tomatoes and their potatoes and their rainbow unicorns and their average regular people fighting for a nation that is not home to any global power elites.

    … who, also, are winning.

    Must be something in those tomatoes….

    (Those in power had better hope it’s not spreading.)
