I know there is plenty more important things to be pissed off at but this pizza company that opened 2 years ago, implying that it has been running since 1856, is absurd and kind of insulting. They shouldn’t be allowing to imply that there was a pizza place running in Dublin just after the Famine!!

  1. The original Dollard’s Pizza is in the Dollard’s Printworks building on Wellington Quay.

Dollard’s Printing was founded in 1856, but was only moved to that location about thirty years later.

  2. 1856 was the great pizza famine in ireland many wentto italy to find pizza they used to make potatoe crust pizza but coujd not because of blight

  3. Doesn’t mention “Established”, nor does it state that it relates to a year.

I’d fully expect the family company to have been founded then, doing something else, but have now found themselves slinging pizzas, leaning on the name to dupe folks into thinking longevity of existence = quality.

Good question though; I wonder who was first to sell pizza officially in Ireland?
