Sadly cops who get injured in such cases hardly can count on financial help from their work insurance for the physical damage, let alone the mental damage.
Ookal ga ik niet akkoord met hoe de politie soms handelt, dit is gewoon pijnlijk om te bekijken. Hopelijk gaan ze geen blijvende schade hier aan overhouden.
Hopefully the cops are fine and the guy gets what he deserves. Want to point out how the people there helped, I was looking the videos and they told the police where the guy ran away, that is good because I know places where the people don’t want to have anything to do with the police and here it wasn’t the case.
Hope this case is taken for what it is, an horrible man, criminal behaving like an animal after a police check. This stuff happens anywhere, in some areas more than others, I already see to many people shitting on the people who live there as if they were not the victims too of the stuff that happens in the area.

Ik ben ook bij de politie en werk in Antwerpen. Ik vind het fijn om zo veel positieve reacties te lezen, ook al is het klilaat vandaag de dag meestal tegen ons gekeerd.
Vorige week werd er op de Grote Markt met glazen flessen naar ons gegooid terwijl we een arrestatie uitvoerden van een onruststoker die met iedereen wou vechten. Gelukkig werd niemand van ons geraakt. Het had even goed helemaal anders kunnen uitdraaien.
Veel beterschap aan de collega’s die hierbij betrokken zijn!
Why can’t we have an open debate of how justice should be served? This is attempted murder and should be at least 20 years. The judicial system in Belgium needs a complete overhaul and it is time to do so.

There is literally a cop spazzing on the street due to a concussion or a severe head trauma. Why does no-one pull out a handgun and make that bastard comply or put one in its kneecap?
