Hi,
On my Bahncard information in DB app there is a field called “Aktuell bis” under the expiry date. This date is way before the expiry of my Bahncard. I was just wondering what it is? If it’s the actual expiry, then it doesn’t make sense because aren’t Bahncards valid for an year? Screenshot attached.

  1. Interesting question – when googling this the only two references I found in relation to “Aktuell bis” being an earlier date than “Gültig bis” were [this](https://old.reddit.com/r/bahn/comments/x208s6/bahncard_pl%C3%B6tzlich_ung%C3%BCltig/) reddit post and [this](https://usabilityfail.org/wann-laeuft-die-bahncard-ab/) post on a site called usabilityfail – both don’t have an explanation for this though.

Maybe someone else here knows more about it, I’d first try what a poster suggested in the other reddit post, namely reloading the bahncard, if that doesn’t work I’d contact DB.

  2. Basically, although you’ve paid for a whole year, the digital BahnCard still, for some reason, has to refresh regularly (every month, IIRC). Normally this happens completely automatically, but sometimes that might fail and you have to refresh it manually (for which you need your MyBahn account password).

  3. The “aktuell bis” field is basically the last time the app refreshed your BahnCard data plus a fixed number of days.

The BahnCard itself remains valid after that date, but its current representation in the app expires. When you pull down to refresh (or it automatically refreshes in the background), that date jumps ahead (unless it is already identical to the “gültig bis” date, or has already been refreshed today).
