Hi, I am currently in Sofia and I’d like to explore the city a bit. I read about this free tours organised in many cities and I noticed Sofia offers it too. I can see it is for free but there is expected donation at the end or something like that.
Is it a good idea to take part in it or it is better to explore city by myself?
Do you know what is the average/ expected donation? I am scared that at the end they will say something like ‚average donation is 50 BNG’ and I dont have that much money to spend on sightseeing.

It’s worth it. They show you around, tell you some interesting facts. 5-10 lev is fine.
There’s no need to tip if you’re short on cash. 5 BGN would be kind.
I just did one. It was great. I gave the guy 20 lev because I could afford it, but just offer what you can.
