You’re fairly calculating imports in relation to population. But why single out Germany when so many others, such as Poland, Bulgaria, Latvia, Belgium, Austria, and Hungary, import even more?
It wouldn’t be unfair to compare the development in imports since February to India.

The X-axis units are not the same for both images.
It’s interesting that when you look at the source from this graph, you see that the amount of exports of Russian fossil fuels has remained relatively stable. However, Russia has been forced to sell these products at discounted prices resulting in the lower total amount of Euros spent.
