  1. They are thinking about doing this with those who are at risk of suicide? Absolutely ridiculous, it’ll lead to many more suicide cases, fucking idiots

  2. Tory electoral strategy:

“Let’s find another really weak group of people to victimise. Yeah, those suicidal depressives, they’re unlikely to fight back. Now, let’s give them a performative kicking.”

The amount of public money that could conceivably be saved here is tiny, dwarfed by, just to take one example, the fraudulently claimed COVID support funds that they wrote off.

JC+ work coaches are not mental health professionals. They aren’t qualified to judge who needs support and who should be forced back into work. This policy will cause severe distress and harm to many people and will probably lead to deaths.

  3. This is like that Not the 9 O’Clock news sketch saying that the Treasury is targetting those who can’t hit back.

  4. This is the same bunch of twats have been denigrating working from home and actively participating in reducing the number of those jobs available.

It is almost astonishing for them to turn round and now say “well, look at all these work from home jobs! suicidal Annie with no qualifications or skills because she hasn’t been able to leave the house for ten years without stabbing herself? Surely she can code from home!”

    Absolute scum.

  5. Imagine getting rid of remote working (which made so many jobs more accessible to sick and disabled people) and then threatening these people their money will be cut if they don’t work.

Also, maybe if we fucking acknowledged Long Covid and tried to find treatments for people suffering that would help too…

  6. Woke up to this news. I’m disabled not worked for 15years. Just because now some people work from home is an almighty stretch to say well we just take all these people with chronic conditions and disabilities can sit on their sofa and work. Job done! There aren’t many work from home jobs that are flexible enough or with short enough hours. I could work say 6h this week and 2h next week. Those micro job don’t yet exist with no time limits on when work is done.

Most jobs are very specialists no I don’t have an account degree, or web design degree or nor will I ever be a writer. So who is going make all these entry level jobs that require no experinec or 10y of previous working in office C V?

If Goverment want to make millions of mirco job that basically anyone can be productive from home doing. I will, even if it’s push a button every minute on my laptop just to prove I’m earning my benefits fine. But they will have to create them. None of this cancelling benefits because in some fantasy land these jobs exist. If they did then working parents would be very first to want them all!
