  1. She should be fuming at spending that much on shoes for a pre teen

  2. So basically she wasnt wearing the appropriate shoes for the schools uniform.

  3. pfff, last seasons Vivienne Westwood shoes. What are parents doing to their children!

  4. Am I out of touch that I think £100 for a pair of business/school shoes (aka not sportswear) isn’t much?

I do think it’s silly buying a kid that for school shoes though as they’ll probably have holes in them by the end of the year.

  5. Clueless airhead parent. I imagine her being a Denise Royle type, buying loads of designer tat for her kid.

  6. I support a basic and plain school uniform policy and do agree those shoes are not only too fancy but also wearing something that valuable to school at 11 is ridiculous.

What I think is even more ridiculous is the approach some schools seem to be taking, this girl was put in isolation for the day then sent home. Surely she should have just been told they were not appropriate and don’t wear them tomorrow. The disruption to her and the rest of the school by putting her in isolation is not helpful to anyone.

  7. Long story short… She didn’t wear the school uniform and her mum overpaid.

Aren’t parents given plenty of notice for this stuff?

  8. While I agree that schools are going insane with uniform policies, I think that parents need to realise that this obsession with logos that kids have needs to be stopped and shcools don’t want to deal with the bullying it causes.

I don’t even have kids and I even I know that pretty much every school has banned logos.

  9. Don’t people understand what uniform is? It is supposed to give every one a level playing field with regards their clothing so that there is no ‘one upmanship’ and then this parent gets pissy because she choose not to actually pay attention to the rules. Perhaps the parent needs to go back to school as well.

  10. Ah it is “fuming” Mum wanting to take kids out of school over something very clear in their uniform policy season! Same with another complaining that their massive Nike tick counted as a logo. Just buy another pair of cheap plain black shoes and get her back in education ffs. I don’t know what these Karens think they are trying to achieve, the school would probably be glad to get rid of her.

  11. A bargain compared to the other mandatory school-branded uniform components.

  12. What a mug! The following words, you can fuck off, would have been spoken if my 11 yr old asked for £100 school shoes and they’d be going in £10 shoes.

  13. As long ago as the 80’s I remember parents at my school complaining that their kid wasn’t allowed to wear something that was non uniform because it was expensive and that should have made it okay.

    Some parents are just stupid

  14. Why can’t we just call them Vivienne Westwood shoes….why do we have to put the £100 in the article.

  15. Yes, the mum is a narcissistic idiot for buying pointlessly expensive shoes for a child, knowing full well that they wouldn’t be appropriate for the uniform if she had even the slightest bit of sense.

But sending her home for having the wrong shoes? That’s also fucking stupid. A child is wearing the wrong item of clothing therefore we will punish her by denying her access to education. What the fuck?

I honestly don’t get why schools get so uppity about uniforms being exact, nor do I get why they force kids to wear such uncomfortable clothes. Like, sure some uniform rules make sense. But sending someone home until they have the right shoes? How about get over it?

  16. Right decision. Who the hell thinks that’s appropriate for school? I’m all for giving the parents a list of what is allowed and they stick to that. It’s a uniform, the clue is in the name.

Rather than raising a kid to believe they are an exception, they should dress them appropriately like the rest of us

  17. Or…

‘Exceptionalist parent decides to break school uniform rules and gets a fucking nark on because their more money than sense entitlement doesn’t give them preferential treatment’

    There FIFY.

  18. I probably went through 3 pairs of shoes every school year, wether they were kickers or £20 primarnis

  19. Mum fumes because she doesn’t realise how stupid she actually is.
