> “I can tell you that no drone, no element of any device has ever reached Romania.”
— Klaus Iohannis, President of Romania, 5 September (yesterday)
The Romanian president lost credibility by totally denying it and having to admit it was false on the next day. When Dmytro Kuleba says that Ukraine has photographic evidence, it may be wise to look at the evidence before making any hard statements.
It is bizarre that citizens of other countries are learning that russian weapons are detonating in their country via ukraine, and that those leaders are actively lying
I have a strong feeling that Nato’s alleged “not one inch” doctrine is directly in conflict with the fact that the russians most certainly have already gone further than an inch, and that a lot of leaders are simply afraid (quite reasonably) of the consequences of having to deal with this. Its a lot easier to pretend it isn’t happening
Its one thing to send military aid, its quite another for the russians to be exploding drones and firing missiles onto a nations territory. But they can and will slow boil western countries that don’t want to get sucked into war into accepting this kind of thing if something isn’t done to stop them very actively
