  1. IMHO both France and Germany should think about ways to end the current defence cooperations without alienating the partner.

As it is now, it is not really beneficial for either one of them.

  2. Spain & Germany could do themselves a real favor here and go at it alone, Airbus & MTU as well as Indra already have most of the capabilities, while the biggest deficit could be filled by a partnership with foreign or EU players, MTU has them already anyways.

Both nations need to increase Defence spending, R&D as well as their MIC output and they could afford it to boot.

  3. Does anyone know what Germanys plan is for a next gen fighter if they leave SCAF, ask to join the UK/ Italy/ Japan project? Try to develop one with just them and Spain?

  4. If Germany and Spain plan to continue the project without France, you do have to wonder just how much of a global market there is for next gen fighters if everyone is basing their costings on future exports. Britain/Italy/Japan, France, Spain/Germany, America, Russia, and China would all be developing their own fighters and will be competing against each other for exports.
