  1. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, at a joint meeting of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Subcommittee on Security and Defence:^1

    >Stoltenberg emphasized that the aforementioned three things — the interoperability, the NATO-Ukraine Council and the removal of the requirement for a membership action plan for Ukraine — demonstrate that Ukraine has now become closer to membership in NATO.

    >“This reflects the political reality, that nations are sovereign, nations decide themselves, and Ukraine has, of course, the right to decide on its own path, and it’s up to Ukraine and NATO Allies to decide when Ukraine becomes a member. Russia cannot veto membership for any sovereign independent state in Europe,” Stoltenberg stressed.

  3. I wish it was true. But the reality is Putler also thinks “as long as i wage war in Ukraine, there’s no NATO admission for them (per NATO charter)”. I hope NATO will find a way to still get it done though. F^ Russia
