Yeah it was said so last year when Wagner started to put them in place into Donbass. Small and low quality, they never were considered the main obstacle.
RuZZian generals:“…what was good 1945, must be also good in 2023!“
Their purpose is to funnel Ukraine through certain areas where Russia have fire control. I mean, until a tank pushes them out of the way and makes a new path…
This is about everything in poorashka. Sadly but joyfully.
This is no surprise. Most people knew it however the General responsable was most likely handsomely rewarded.
Considering that Russia has a clown for a defense minister that’s a given.
That’s been russia’s entire defense: big talk. Whether it’s the Armata, the latest Sukhoi, 2nd best army or Dragon’s Teeth… it’s all bluff. Of course, you have to take into account that it might be true, but untill now, it’s all hot air.
The concrete is probably rotting already.
Probably why their stiff defence was ahead of their weak defence.
Russia is not with the current times of new age war.
Trenches and Dragon teeth and barbed wire are very effective. If they are manned and maintained.
But we’re dealing with shrodinger’s Russian army here, they have a lot of meatballs, but can’t mann all the trenches. Also artillery. And air supremacy. And bullets. And rifles. And food.
Even the US analysts were saying the dragon’s teeth were actually effective. I even heard this from pro-Ukraine defense analysts who said that, despite the ridicule of them being possibly installed wrong, the russians had time to mostly do it right knowing the Ukrainian counteroffensive was coming, thus leading to the months of probing attacks because Ukraine couldn’t break through those lines which the DTs were part of. This then consequently led to massive losses and a near complete suspension of the counteroffensive.
One need not be so full of pride to not admit that the counteroffensive is somewhere between stalled and stopped while Ukraine creates a new strategy. The issue around the backlash of a failed counteroffensive is Ukraine’s making alone in that they hyped it up in the media around the world, via grassroots groups, online, and everywhere, thus overpromising and underdelivering while there were massive casualities. Ukraine should simply have done the counteroffensive and any gain at all, no matter how miniscule, would have been a win.

> This week, Russian forces broke through the first line of Russia’s defenses, liberating the village of Robotyne near Zaporizhzhya. They are seeking to break through Russia’s second defensive line and retake Tomak as part of their drive toward the occupied city of Melitopol.
> Russian forces broke through the first line of Russia’s defenses,
They obviously mean Ukrainian forces broke through
What is the status actually?
Last time I checked (6th September) no heavy equipment has passed the line yet. Only light infantry. Source: Institute for the Study of War. Date: 5th September I think.

Well yeah. WW2 was almost 80 years ago.
