Prague has just opened a new landmark at Masaryk station – “Masaryčka”, as a part of station modernization. Designed by Zaha Hadid, it includes a gilded facade. The area is also now more friendly to pedestrians. The building’s main purpose is however a seat for a major Czech-Slovak corporation.

Third pic looks like it belongs in Dubai. Zaha’s work can be really off-putting for me
soulless display of wealth
This project does not respect the environment at all and is a spit in the face of all “non-billionaires”.
I mostly like it – how the building looks from various angles (especially the front with golden decoration), the roof and the interior. But it’s huge. Fortunately, it’s just two buildings. The original plan was [7 buildings](https://ct24.ceskatelevize.cz/sites/default/files/styles/node-article_wide/public/images/1739791-02_160418_1117_aerial_sunset.jpg) in the same style, thank god they downsized it.
Welches Unternehmen?
You can comment on design or whatever, but it is so reassuring to see investment in former East Bloc like this. Countries robbed of having normal economic development like Western Europe despite the historically close cultural ties are finally being allowed the chance to catch up.
