At 58 years old, callsign “Uncle” joined the army to defend Ukraine.Until 2014 he lived in Luhansk but left when russia occupied his hometown. He moved with his family to Ivano-Frankivsk and signed up for the military after the full-scale invasion. The Army did not want to take him due to his age and the issues with his heart, but he insisted.
It is not easy for him, especially marching with heavy equipment, but he keeps up.
At the front “Uncle” adopted a dog that was wandering around. Her name is Ozzy. After a few months at the front, he brought Ozzy back to his home village because she was very scared of shelling.
This year in December, “Uncle” will turn 60 years old. After the victory, he wants to return to his village and continue working on his farm.
