It’s the shiny appearance of the panels they have an issue with. There are panels available with matt finishes.
I don’t blame her tbh, clean energy is more important than keeping up appearances.
However I think longer term the answer to our energy needs is going to be local “power stations” which are small solar/wind/battery farms that supply the town they are based in.
It makes a lot more sense to reserve a few acres on the edge of town for a solar farm than have every house fitted with its own solar panels.
I suspect she would be the first to scream in outrage if some big developer put up a tower block next door, accusing the council of “refusing to enter into a dialogue”.
Planning regs are there to help protect the environment too.
She could easily have just put the money into a solar farm company or signed up to a 100% renewable supplier.
Pathetic, absolutely pathetic decision made by a bunch of crusty geriatrics
We have laws and people follow them or they get punished.
The alternative is anarchy, which is not known to be environmentally friendly.
