  1. Mariana visits the grave of her fallen boyfriend, Nazar Nebozhynskyi, every week and the memorial with his image (in the picture) for over a year now.

He died to save the lives of his brothers in arms. He was 23. Mariana didn’t want him to join, but she knew there was no stopping him.

Each time, Mariana brings him coffee, the kind Nazar used to like, and she also usually brings sweets. Mariana refers to these visits as “dates.”

The couple used to visit the coffee shop together during their walks. Now, she makes the trip alone, but she still buys two coffees.

Mariana remains composed when talking about Nazar, but her voice trembles when she talks about how two weeks before his death, Nazar promised to get her a puppy, even though he wasn’t initially enthusiastic about the idea as according to him, the dog that she wanted “snores”.

  2. I wonder what our world would be like if everyone loved at least one person the way she loved him…

  3. Yet Ruzzians hide their own dead and silence their families. Slava Ukraini!!!
