President Yoon of South Korea pledges 2.3 billion dollars for Ukraine’s reconstruction, 300 milion of it expected immediately next year while the other 2 billion for long term
This is the kind of Korea I like to see on the world stage. Once war-torn and a recipient of aid, now a donor to another democracy in its time of need.
Side note, the 2 billion dollars will be provided starting 2025 through long term and low interest loans via the Economic Development Cooperation Fund.
South Korea would be an excellent partner for rebuilding Ukraine’s steel industry. Check out Pohang.
“Immediately next year”
What’s the deal with South Korea being an overly neutral country, anyway? They even are a country formally at war. They’re also not maintaining a peaceful statuesquo maintained by their adversary.
