Moved into a place that uses these. Neighbours say they’re not reliable that they’re prone to overreading usage and they’re sometimes even ticking over when the heater is not in use. Anyone knows any better?

Normally those digital ones are accurate.
The old ones with the colors were less reliable due to evaporation.
