  1. So this will supplement 20 existing units. Poland has also ordered South Korean 288 Chunmoo MLRS. Everything will be mated to Polish Jelcz trucks.

  2. Fuckin hell. Ukraine has what, 20 of those badboys, imagine what 500 could do…

  3. Someone in the EU has to ask where this money comes from.

  4. Misread that as “Poland orders 486 HIMARS *launches*” and got excited.

  5. I know it’s necessary and we need weapons to protect the people of Ukraine and dossuade further Russian agression, but it still doesn’t sit right how much moneg is being thrown at the military industrial complex. A lot of these companies willingly sell arms to dictators and opressive regimes elsewhere in the world. Its a real catch 22 that adds another layer of shit to an already shitty situation.

  6. FYI: If you order 586 launchers, that’s called “a pentium of HIMARS”.

  7. I have a hard time understanding what Poland is trying to do here.

500 HIMARS is already ~3000 tubes, that’s a shit ton of GLMRS rockets to be imported. Realistically feeding all these tubes without a domestic production will cost a shit ton, so we can expect Poland to make the demands to have their own GLMRS facilities. Still that’s a shit ton of money (US domestic production is apparently at 160k a piece, which would cost half a billion for just one salvo. 0.5% of the Polish defense budget for one salvo doesn’t look sustainable, but whatever) but they might have the political will to feed those babies.

But with those 300 Chunmoo, it makes even less sense. Those MLRS will represent ~3500 tubes by themselves (so 6500 tubes in total) but this time Poland has already made agreements with SK to make their own production lines. So, it’s all coming together, right?

It doesn’t, unless someone corrects me here.

These two MLRS use different calibers. HIMARS GLMRS are 227mm, Chunmoo are 239mm. Even the bigger missiles that are realistically going to end up in the Polish Arsenal won’t share the same caliber either.

So, if I’m understanding things correctly, not only Poland will invest massively two different MLRS systems, but they are also going to have two different lines of production for rockets that are seemingly not swappable.

If my assumption is correct, something has to give and I can expect Poland to simply reduce the orders because that doesn’t look cost efficient at all. Same thing is happening with the MBTS (Abrams/K2 and perhaps even Leo2s).

  8. Good.

Army it’s not only “muscle” is also “fat”. You need to have spare equipment for losses, rotations, in case of mobilization or even ability to send time to friendly country in time of need. Otherwise we will end like Leopard coalition where even sending 14 tanks each was a problem.

Also looks like all of our Grads and its modifications will go for retirement, either deep storage or Ukraine if war will continue in 2026, we have around 200 of those

This also mean that Królewiec(Kaliningrad), is no longer Polish/Baltic problem. Its will be Russian problem, good luck having anything in the range of our rocket artillery forces now. Everyting there will be target.

Finally we will get back long range rocket ability. Looks god for our Army

  9. Tvp is an edgy state controlled propaganda outlet. Please use a different scource.

  10. *After a faked Radio Tower incident*

Putin: “This night for the first time Polish regular soldiers fired on our territory. Since 5:45 a.m. we have been returning the fire, and from now on bombs will be met by bombs.”

*General whisper something in his ear*

Putin:”What do you mean the soldiers at the front says that HIMARS rockets is blotting out the Sun?”

  11. In response to this news Russia has announced that it has already destroyed 600 of polands himars and captured another 100.
