My American friend has just received the book about my town’s defence against the Russian invaders. This book was written by the veteran BBC correspondent Andrew Harding who visited my town Voznesensk (Mykolaiv region) in March 2022

    I first came to Voznesensk in March 2022, soon after the battle I recount in the book, on a winding, pot-holed, axle-snapping country road, with the boom of artillery audible in the distance.
