Poor bastard
He looks under serious pressure. Best for everyone to move on at this stage
Time to pack it in tbh. He’s out of his dept
I like him but he’s definitely gone. I’d say we’ll hear it in the next day or 2.
I think most Irish fans feel sympathy rather than pitchforks – you can tell he really tried and looks like he’s under immense pressure.
Could they move him over to the women’s team? considering if they sack him now he still has to be paid till the end of his contract I assume.

2&7 ranked against us at 53, it was a big ask. Played great for the home game’s against France & Netherlands in all honesty
Not sure what that wierd edit is about as if he’s the greatest joker of all time.
We lost to France and the Netherlands. I’m not sure who thinks theres any shame in that looking at the pool of players we have. 2-0 against double world cup finalists and 2-1 against semifinalists? That’s a fairly great return.
The results that have him in trouble are the ones against Greece and the likes of Luxembourg last time out. He’s been a bit unlucky with injuries but I do think the team has gone as far as it’ll go with him in charge. The question is, can it go any further with anyone else?
I really like him and he has us playing decent enough football. I think he’ll probably be sacked but don’t think you’re going to get another manager that’s going to fulfill the same remit _and_ get results.
Interview was a hard watch
Tony O donaghue js an ass. He did similar but not quite as bad to Martin o Neil too.
Does anyone ever consider we just don’t have the talent and a manager can’t change that?
If someone is driving a ford fiesta in a race full of Ferraris and Lambos, you can’t blame the driver for losing.
Truth is we are close to a bottom tier footballing nation now in Europe.
You won’t attract good management to our current level and given our performances in qualifying groups, our seeding will ensure that we keep getting tough groups. Combine that with the FAI being in a hole and other “weaker” footballing nation making strides means we’re being left in the dirt.
Anyway, fuck John Delaney.
I feel sorry for Kenny, at the same rate I never understood why he thought the squad had the ability play the way he wanted them too, they clearly couldn’t.
Lads turn off this shite. Haven’t been competitive in soccer in a decade. Turn onto the lads wearing the scrum caps and mouth guards and give the rugby team all the nations support
Homer: Somebody had to take the babysitter home, then I noticed she was sitting on / her / sweet can… / so I grabbed / her / sweet can… / Ohhhh, just thinking about / her / can… / I just wish I had / her / sweet, sweet / s/s/sweet can… Godfrey: So, Mr. Simpson, you admit you grabbed her can.
How shit is this edit? Ridiculous
We’re poor compared to what we used to be, but we’re not bottom of the barrel, as many of Kenny’s staunchest support make out as a way to defend him against those who think he should go.
Pretty much everyone agrees that we longer have the players to worry the likes of France and Netherlands, but we absolutely do have enough talent to easily beat the likes of Luxembourg, Armenia and Azerbaijan, who, although they may have improved in recent years, still don’t have the same level of talent.
You can expect drawing or even losing to a much lower ranked team now and then – even the likes of Italy can get turned over. But when it keeps happening, again and again, then you have to question the manager’s position.
Unfortunately, Ireland under Kenny is now less than the sum of their parts. He was worth a shot and deserved a fair go, but he’s now had that and it’s not gone well at all.
Competitively played 26, won 5. Being beaten by France and Holland is no disgrace, but the results against Greece was poor, and some really dreadful performances/results in previous campaigns losing to Finland, Armenia, Luxemberg drawing with Bulgaria and Azerbaijan to name a few. Those are games you have to be winning and competitive in.

Its a tough job and I dont have the answers but its hard to stand over that record.
Might not be the guy but hopefully there’s another solution beyond getting another has-been in to play stone age football. Fair enough, you *might* qualify for the odd tournament but you’re only making up numbers in the group stage.
FAI board should resign, they fired Vera Pauw the women’s coach and kept this guy who has not won a thing. The FAI management need to all get fired and use their over inflated salaries to get a decent coach. Also they should give Paul a go at the men’s team.
Watching the 2nd half last night it just seemed like the players stopped doing the basics. Stopped showing for the ball, stopped passing and moving, some were guilty of jogging around, no urgency for things like throw ins, no guile, no trickery, no spark, no aggression. At times it seemed like we were playing with no midfielders.
These are things you don’t need a squad full of superstars to do better. Reasonable fans know that we’re not world beaters, so comments saying we don’t have the talent and changing the manager won’t fix that, are missing the point I think.
I like Kenny, and I’m glad for example that he brought through so many newer, younger players but it seems like his tenure has run its course. Even a lateral move in terms of manager quality might inject a bit of freshness and endeavour.
Massive organisational change needed within the FAI, doesnt just rest with Kenny, but the whole structure from grass roots level.
Looking at an all Ireland soccer team is really needed. Obviously massive issues with that but if we do want to start qualifying and being competitive we need to do something different.
I wasn’t a fan of him from the beginning, but the witch hunt for an aggregate score of 5-1 for 2 games against World cup runners up, and a team who were beaten by the champions on penalties is a joke. The more disappointing result was not getting at least a point from the Greece game. We were missing our best player in Ferguson for the last 2 games. Unless we can recruit a top class manager (which is unlikey) then I reckon we stick with him and let him bring in more youth in every game.
I think the major point from the last 2 games is that Duffy is past it and O’Shea or Omobamidele need to be blooded in there.
Editing is a bit prickish tbh, he’s not good enough to get is to a major tournament but he gave it his all
