My nene kept in contact with her Episkoblu community once she sought asylum in the UK after her village was destroyed by EOKA-B, and ended up living next to her Afro-Cypriot bestie about 10 years later.

This article discusses the anti-Blackness of Cyprus, and colourism within.

We need a reformed education for Cypriots. It’s more evident now than ever that without knowing our history, we are doomed to repeat it.

  1. When I was in school we had a single black student. He was a Cypriot and he was never bullied or mistreated in any way.

The problem with the African illegal immigrants in Cyprus **today** is that they are not refugees of some war arriving to Cyprus with some boat from Africa, but people who took a flight to Turkey, then went to occupied Cyprus, many of them as “university students”.

Then, after knowingly supporting our enemies, they decide to become “asylum seekers” in the free part of Cyprus.

Look at several Africans in this sub who are planning to go to study in occupied Cyprus. We tell them that the north part of Cyprus is illegally occupied by Turkey, and by going there they support the enemy of Cyprus, and they do not give a fuck about the violation of our rights. They only care about their own interests and nothing else. So why should we give a fuck about them?

Legal African immigrants, black tourists etc are one thing and absolutely welcomed. But the illegal immigrants who are not really refugees at all, and who come through Turkey and the pseudo state – i.e. the vast majority of them, are not welcomed at all, not because of their skin color but because of their personal choices, and there should be a speedy process for their deportation.
