  1. Why do they need a photographer? I mean They’re in the business of photography.

What are the still images for?

  2. I took my aerial down and got a smart screen without an tuner. So I’m not paying next time.

    But this still annoys me!

  3. I think you have to ask the following question: if Fair City was produced privately in a competitive market by a non-subsidised company, would they be spending €80,000 per year on still photography.

I don’t think that they would. A private company producing that show, which has such a limited audience and turnover, would try to run the production as efficiently as possible. I couldn’t see them spending €80k a year on photographs by third parties when there are already has plenty of videographers/photographers and equipment on set. These kind of inefficiencies just would not fly in the private sector and it speaks volumes on how RTE is run. It’s very easy to spend other people’s money.

  4. Dig a little deeper, and you might find the €180k payment for something called a gramophone guy.

  5. You’ll all be giving out that they use more than one camera next

  6. Maybe we should give them €100 million in the bailout, instead of €50 million, just in case they run out.

  7. Make RTE TV and Radio a subscription service, see how long they last without the public being forced to pay a TV license.

  8. The fact they still make this shite is crazy, this is basically painting lipstick on a pig.
