Over a week ago, I returned a valuable item worth over 500 euros to Amazon. Amazon gave me a DHL QR Code, but I couldn’t use DHL because it’s too far from my place. So they suggested I use Hermes and ship the item myself. I sent the item on September 4th, and today, on September 12th, the tracking status hasn’t changed.
For the first three days after shipping the item (a console), the tracking kept saying “item will be delivered today,” only to later say it would be shipped the next day due to a delay. I thought I was covered because I bought insurance for [items up to 500 euros](https://imgur.com/a/T3nL2Dz). However, it turns out the insurance has a long list of exceptions, practically excluding everything. So my insurance is worthless, and I’m out 500 euros.
I tried contacting them through email, but they didn’t respond. Then I called them, and they sent me an email saying they would start an investigation. I don’t have much hope that the investigation will help because they’ll probably say the item is lost, but they won’t cover it because, apparently, their insurance is also lost. Now all I can do is wait and hope for the best. Do you have any suggestions?
